Blackbird Education is led by Kathryn Ugoretz, an educational therapist, teacher, tutor, and learning specialist with decades of experience supporting students across a wide range of learning profiles.

Kathryn Ugoretz, MA, ET
Since 1991, Kathryn has worked in the field of education in Santa Fe as an educational therapist; college-level learning specialist; private teacher and tutor; high school teacher; and coordinator/manager of educational programs and educational research for medical and nonprofit organizations. Working with students across the life span, she specializes in reading, writing, and executive functioning. A graduate of UW-Madison (B.A. honors, English and South Asian Studies) and St. John’s College (M.A.), she is also a certified Educational Therapist (ET) from UC-Riverside. She’s trained in Mental Health First Aid, Motivational Interviewing, and Motivational Incentives. She’s a parent and published writer too.
